"Dan Rindler's precrawler Child’s Space Method class was a wonderful experience for me and my son. As a new parent I have been able to enjoy an increased sensitivity and awareness towards my son's cognitive and motor development. My son loved the activities and songs, and has benefited enormously from the techniques taught. Prior to taking this class he would cry within seconds of being put on his stomach, which in turn would make me feel unsure about how to give him proper "tummy time." Dan's class has helped us transform "tummy time" into an opportunity to play and bond. I can highly recommend Dan's class to other parents. He is a great instructor and musician with palpable kindness and sincerity."
“Dan’s class was great! I saw a lot of development in my son from using the techniques Dan teaches, and the class gave us the opportunity to meet other babies and moms in the Slope. My son was 4 months old when we started Dan’s class, and was not a big fan of tummy time. Now three months later, my son never wants to be on his back! Dan gave me helpful tips to encourage optimal development, and lots of fun activities to do at home with my baby. What I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to interact with my son without distractions like a blackberry, computer, and other responsibilities. It was also great fun to watch his interest in the other babies grow as time went on, and Dan’s class helped me meet other local moms. The entire group bonded well, and we continue to see each other even though the class has ended. My son is crawling now, and we are very excited to continue with Dan.”
“When I first brought my four month old son to Dan's class my baby would get visibly upset when I placed him on his tummy at home. As a new mom, I was a bit nervous and did not know how to make my baby more comfortable on his tummy. With Dan's helpful tips about body movement, combined with his music and our practice at home, my son soon became a "tummy expert". I saw a dramatic improvement within 2-3 sessions, when my son began enjoying his time on his tummy. In addition, I always sing Dan's songs to my son who remembers, recognizes and smiles when I sing the tunes. The classes provide an excellent forum for moms to bond with their babies, for babies to socialize with each other and for babies to realize their own potential while they have lots of fun. Currently, my son is five and a half months old and scooches all around the house on his belly looking for new adventures.”
“My daughter and our family have benefited immensely from Daniel Rindler's classes. The songs sung, authored by Dan, have become favorites in our household. His movement techniques, based on the Feldenkrais method, provide a wonderful way to enhance the natural progression of movements in pre-crawlers and crawlers. Our daughter loves tummy time now!”
“My daughter loved Dan's [pre-crawlers] class! He provides a great way to have meaningful interaction with my daughter through touch and song, while fostering her development. The class is well structured, yet Dan is flexible in his planning to meet a variety of needs. I recommend it to parents who would like to support their child's development in a nurturing environment.”
“The [pre-crawlers] class offered by Roots & Wing Studio enveloped my son and me in a palpable calm for 45 minutes each week - something that a first time parent can find challenging in pursuit of a balance of baby comfort and development. Dan was able to provide an environment that nurtured both baby and parent - the result was a group of babies and care givers that were able to support one another, sharing in the joy of each baby's development during the duration of the class. The songs we sung in class became the staple songs in my household whenever my son became fussy and needed to be re-focused. Smiles generally ensued. My son's and mine.”
"Dan is a gifted teacher who is passionate about music and learning. My 20 month old daughter loves Roots and Wings and our entire family enjoys the music he carefully selects for his classes."
"Our four-month-old son clearly loved Dan's Tummy Time Workshop. He was always happy in class because Dan kept things relaxed and fun. We saw a dramatic improvement in our son's movement even after the first class. Suddenly he enjoyed being on his stomach, rather than finding it frustrating. We've been excited to see his progress. Dan is truly a wonderful teacher--patient and warm--and mixes up the movement time with some great songs. (We found ourselves singing them at home, too.) This was an engaging class and a very useful one."
“I just wanted to report to you on the huge improvement my son has made on his tummy time. Since yesterday's class, he is able to stay on his tummy for much much longer -- even for 10 min without screaming. He has also started to look around and reach for toys instead of resting his head on his arms all the time. I had tried a lot of things to entertain him while he is on his tummy, but nothing worked. I'm just amazed how things have changed for him after your class. Thanks for the great instruction. I'm looking forward to the upcoming classes. “
"Dan has a magical touch with babies - my son loved going to his class, & would only cry when it was time to leave! I highly recommend the tummy time class to all new mommies."
"Roots & Wings Studio has been a great way to nurture my daughter's development through song and movement. My baby lights up every time we are in class. Dan's creative and down to earth style offers a fun way to learn how to use music to engage and bond with your baby. Also, as a first time parent it has been a great way to connect with other parents and their babies. I have also really appreciated the tips about movement and motor development he weaves into each session - making it more than just a simple music class. I would recommend this class to any parent looking for a creative baby music program which is fun for both your baby and you." a pediatrician and mother of a seven month old
“My 5-month old son adores Roots and Wings! When we first started attending class, he absolutely hated tummy time and would tolerate it for 30 seconds max. Thanks to Dan's nurturing approach and personal attention, my son now loves tummy time and rolls over like a champ. The class is also enjoyable for parents; I've learned lovely traditional songs that my son clearly enjoys, even when I'm singing them at home. My baby truly responds to Dan's creative and gentle methods. We love this class!”
"Thanks so much for offering such a great class today. My daughter is usually running all over the place in a classroom situation, but your music really captivated her. ...It was clear that the girls were having fun while learning a lot. It was so wonderful to see how engaged they were with all the songs and activities."
"When I told my friends I was enrolling my daughter in a class at the age of 2 months, everyone thought I was crazy but I am so glad I did! Tummy Time provided both of us with countless moments of enjoyment and my daughter's development sky-rocketed almost immediately. Within the span of forty-five minutes, Dan Rindler manages to create a world where babies are free to explore, sing, dance, laugh, fart and even spit up to the utter delight of their mommies and daddies. My daughter loved the music, movement and interaction with the other babies and I met some great new friends who continue to provide encouragement and support as we navigate our new lives as mothers."
I highly recommend the child development class Child'Space. I took my daughter to the pre-crawlers class, which is for babies under 5 months old, and we loved it. I found out so much about how she sees the world, and I learned a bunch of tricks that make her smile and help with her development. I also found it very relaxing and sweet to bring her to a circle of babies every week
